Resilience, the ability to thrive in adversity, is a key characteristic of highly successful individuals and teams. While many people may have innate skills that improve their resilience, everyone can engage in behaviors that develop resilience. Teams will also have different levels of resilience depending on how individuals interact with each other and the team leader’s ability to foster resilience in the team.

A group of resilient people will not automatically forge a resilient team. Teams must foster the 7Cs of team resilience:

  • Community

  • Competence

While resilient leaders will be more effective, senior leaders will get the most out of their teams if expand beyond their own well-being and also:
